It was a great day!
Oh, my heavens. We, the family, went to visit Grandparents today (Sunday) and it was nice. First we visited Darryl's Dad's mom, whom is in a Nursing Home. She has only been there for three weeks and she is so lonely and a little confused. Alzheimer's is setting in and my heart just broke for her. She seems happy but also sad. She did her best not to cry. We then went to visit her husband who is not in the home with her (another thing she finds very hard) but is living with their son and daughter in-law. He is doing well but I believe that he misses her. When you have been with someone for 69 years its hard. Their children are in the process of cleaning out the old farm house that they lived in for 69 years and we stopped by to give them a hand and oh my, do they ever have a lot of stuff. I am sure you can just imagine what they could have stored away in an old 4 bedroom farm house for 69 years. They have so much stuff they could almost open a second hand store. It was just amazing. One great thing about our visit (other then seeing the ones we love) was that I got my hands on some really old pictures. Even some younger pictures of Darryl. I have a great task of going through them all and hoping that one day I will be able to scrap them all.
Now about the store. Saturday was the 12 hour crop and it was great. The place was vibrating with talk, laughter, great company and great food, well they told me the food was great. Madeline made it to the crop and it was great to see her and to spend some time with her. It was also very nice of her daughter to drive her over to spend the day with us. She wasn't sure she could stay for the whole day, but she made it.
I have been thinking about having a different type of crop, a "No Frills" crop (for 3 days, on a 6.5' table). "No Frills" means, the crop is held during business hours, you get to leave your stuff and there is no food provided. There is a fridge so your more than welcome to bring your own food or there are places near by to get lunch and supper. This crop would be 3 days long and held once a month. It would start on Friday from 4pm to 9pm, Saturday from 10am to 5pm and Sunday from 10am at 5pm. You would be able to come on Friday, bring all the stuff you need (for 3 days, on a 6.5' table) and leave it (for 3 days, on a 6.5' table) until Sunday at 5pm. For $5 you can reserve your table(for 3 days, on a 6.5' table), leave your stuff and come and go as you please during business hours. Oh and did I mention that it is for 3 days and you get a 6.5' table to yourself?
So I approached the ladies that were at the crop to see if anyone would be interested and a few of them signed up. Actually 7 of them signed up. So I have 3 spots left. The date is Friday, October 31st, Saturday November 1st and November 2nd. Give the store a call if you are interested in having a three day crop.
I have a big selection of new paper and other new little items that you just have to stop by to see. Also, I have 3 October kits left. Once there gone, there gone.
Hope everyone had a great weekend.
